May Roundup – What These Bloggers are Doing to Make Money Every Month

June 11, 2018/14 Comments/in Income Roundup /by Wallet Squirrel

Looking to make more money every month? Here are what these other bloggers are doing to make extra money. See what you can do right now to bring in more money every month! #sidehustle #blogging #bloggingtips #earnextramoney #financialfreedom

We are halfway through 2018! That is crazy! It feels like it was just last week Andrew and I were at our retreat back in December planning our goals for 2018.

How are we doing on those goals? Overall, pretty good. There are a couple of major goals that we are still WAY behind on. For example, last month I mentioned we are not making any headway on our affiliate income.

Sadly, as you can see in Andrew’s May Income report that continued. He brought in $124.58 for the month of May. For me personally, this is another frustrating month, especially since I doubled the hours I am working on Wallet Squirrel to see no results yet. But I have said it many many times throughout the last year. You have to be into blogging for the long game in order to be successful. It will not happen over one month.

What are you doing to be successful with your blog for the second half of 2018?

The point of this article is for all of us to learn what other bloggers are doing to bring income in each month. Hopefully, you will find something new to increase your own income next month.

Here we go with this month’s featured bloggers!

J – Millennial Boss – $2,335 (May 2018)

We have featured J from Millennial Boss off and on over the last year since we started this monthly article. I wanted to bring her back into the article because a few months ago she started a whole new venture.

She has now started to sell bachelorette party tattoos and digital downloads on Etsy. This niche has really taken off for her since starting back in March bringing $341.92. Awesome job J!

J also makes money off of rental income, affiliate marketing, and advertisements. Overall, she is crushing it by making an extra $2,335 a month.

Bobby – Millennial Money Man – $59,407.60 (April 2018)

Bobby has quickly become one of my favorite bloggers to follow, especially on Twitter. He has a very real and funny approach to personal finance that I love. If you do not know about Millennial Money Man (M$M) yet, you really should get to know him. You will not regret it.

Selfishly, one reason I write the monthly income roundup article is to help me keep up with other bloggers from around the web. This is actually why I started following Bobby’s journey. It has been fun to see how diverse he has become with his income sources. Now he is making money from a couple different courses, digital marketing services, affiliate income, advertising, and I believe a new podcast in the works (correct me if I am wrong Bobby).

All of these income sources allowed him to earn almost $60,000 in the month of April. It is just amazing what he has been able to accomplish in three years! Keep it up!

Bob Lai – Tawcan – $1,459.76 (May 2018)

We included Bob for the first time last month so I thought I would check in again to see how things are going. Even though his streak of four months for setting new personal dividend income records is now broken, he still had a great month.

Overall, Bob brought in $1,459.76 for the month of May. I love looking at his growth chart within his article. It really shows you how far he has come over the years. If you are looking for some motivation I recommend you check out his chart.

Bob has a very nice and clean strategy for gaining extra income from dividends. Andrew has also written up what his strategy is in his My Dividend Investing Strategy.

Chris – Keep Thrifty – $2,500 (May 2018)

Chris from Keep Thrifty is new to the monthly income roundup article. I happened to find his income report via Twitter and it instantly caught my attention because it is so different compared to other reports.

Why is it so different? Chris walks us through his family’s spending summary for the month. I really enjoyed this as it gave me ideas for how my wife and I can better budget.

Then he goes into side-hustle income they earned for the month. For the month of May, they made $2,300 for some freelance calculators (Chris is a software developer) and $200 for two sponsored freedom stories. That is pretty awesome!

Chris then goes into their savings summary for the month. They started an experiment last month with Acorns to see how much they can save by rounding up their transactions.

Jax – Project Beach Life – $1,859.43 (April 2018)

Another new blogger to me But I love how diverse Jax’s income sources are. She brought in almost $2,000 back in April. This income was brought in through a rental property, Swagbucks, mystery shopping, Amazon FBA, dividends, interest on savings account, and affiliate income.

Phew! Jax has a lot going on! I really like her income report because she dives a little deeper into how she actually made some of the money or why she does that program.

Keep up the great work Jax!

Matthew – All About the Dividends – $533.09 (May 2018)

Our last new blogger this month is Matthew from All About the Dividends. Like Bob from Tawcan, Matthew has an awesome growth chart which allows you to see how far he has come over the last few years. I recommend you check it out as well as it shows you that you can make real money from dividend income but it just takes time.

Matthew makes his dividend income from a wide variety of trusts, funds, and stocks that are all organized into three different accounts. Those accounts are his Tax-Free Savings Account, Registered Retirement Savings Plan, and his Locked-In Retirement Account. These all might make more sense to our Canadian readers.

Curious as to what the heck dividend income is? Andrew explains it really well in his What are Dividends and Dividend Investing article. Check it out to learn more!

Outcomes

Thanks to these bloggers, Andrew and I are being reminded that we have a lot of work to do before we can get where we want to be. The one who perseveres and has the patience to wait out the storm will always win in the long game.

I think we can learn that we need to diversify more with our income sources. The more we can manage (and manage well), the more chances we have to make more income. This is tough at times though when your personal life is so bust too.

How do you find time to keep growing your extra income?

If you are looking to diversify your income sources more. Check out our Ways to Earn More Money page. Here Andrew and I personally review as many different ways to earn extra money as we can to help you decide if it is right for you.

April Roundup – What These Bloggers are Doing to Make Money Every Month

May 14, 2018/12 Comments/in Income Roundup /by Wallet Squirrel

What are these bloggers doing to make money every month? Click to find out!

Yet again, another month has flown by and it is time to take a look around the internet to see how other bloggers are doing with their income.

The point of this article is for all of us to learn what other bloggers are doing to bring income in each month. Hopefully, you will find something new to increase your own income next month.

Before we get started, let’s take a look at how Andrew did during April. He brought in $126.41 during April. This was a very tough month for both Andrew and I. We keep seeing out viewership skyrocket but our income stays the same. Our goal for 2018 is to reach an income level of $3,000 per month and we a third of 2018 now gone we have seen no income gains compared to December 2017.

So, we got together this past weekend to regroup and have, what we believe is, a solid plan to make the last two-thirds of the year the best yet.

What are you doing to make the coming months the best?

Here we go with this month’s featured bloggers!

Michelle Schroeder – $104,065 (April 2018)

This month Michelle saw a dip in her income compared to last month. This dip was actually a huge drop but it is nothing to worry about because she did not go below her normal monthly income.

The dip in income was because she did not partake in any affiliate launches during April. Michelle makes her income from affiliate marketing, her Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing course, sponsorships, and advertising.

In case you missed it, Andrew and I had an article featured on her website a several months ago about our SEO and Web Marketing strategy.

Bob Lai – Tawcan – $1,545.42 (April 2018)

To keep things fresh, I wanted to add a few new bloggers to this month’s roundup Bob Lai is one of those bloggers. Bob is a dividend investor from Vancouver who has an amazing garden that looks like it should be showcased on the Victory Garden.

Bob is having an amazing 2018 so far. His dividend income has an amazing month over month growth for the first four months. He brought in a personal record amount of $1,545.42 which is a 21.56% growth compared to last year. That is amazing!

Bob has a very nice and clean strategy for gaining extra income from dividends. Andrew has also written up what his strategy is in his My Dividend Investing Strategy.

Cory – Growing Dollars From Cents – $245 (2018 so far)

Cory is another newcomer to this post. I wanted to include him because I really like the unique perspective he gives in his income report.

A lot of bloggers just give a list of where they made their money. We are guilty of that as well but at least Andrew puts it in a nice infographic. 😀

Cory gives his readers a step by step guide to how he actually made his money. He gives us a header of an item that he made money off of such as ‘I Became An Affiliate For Grammarly’ then continues with a step by step guide to how he signed up for their affiliate program.

Now, several other bloggers do something similar like Michelle Schroeder. Because she has so many more income sources compared to most bloggers she can’t do a step-by-step guide like Cory. Her income report would be crazy long. Instead, she has individual ‘How To’ articles that she links to.

Overall, I like Cory’s report because it gives you easy actionable steps to start making money right away. I recommend you check it out.

Lanny and Bert – Dividend Diplomats – $424.15 (April 2018 Lanny’s)

Lanny had a nice month, making an extra $424.15 from his dividend income. This is a nice increase compared to April 2017 when he made $367.19.

The main increase came from a series of companies such as IBM and PG that increased their dividend payout. Overall, this increased his income by $77.74! That is awesome!

Keep up the great work Lanny!

Curious as to what the heck dividend income is? Andrew explains it really well in his What are Dividends and Dividend Investing article. Check it out to learn more!

Jordan Maas – Money Maaster – $505.52 (April 2018)

Jordan is another newcomer to this post. He is a Canadian from Winnipeg who just celebrated their second child’s first birthday! If you want to see a sweet first birthday cake you should check out his income report. It is one of the coolest cakes I have seen!

Every month he walks us through how he made his extra money through passive income. This income comes from investing in his Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA) and his Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP). Overall this month he brought in an extra $505.52.

Keep up the awesome work!

Outcomes

As I said last month, patience is the key. We live in a world that has conditioned us to get results right away. This is not the truth about blogging or investing. It takes time so keep patient and keep working away.

Stay focused and patient, your time will come too.

After a rough month, Andrew and I are being reminded of this. The one who perseveres and has the patience to wait out the storm will always win in the long game.

If you are looking to diversify your income sources more. Check out our Ways to Earn More Money page. Here Andrew and I personally review as many different ways to earn extra money as we can to help you decide if it is right for you.

March Roundup – Our Favorite Income Reports From Around the Web

April 16, 2018/4 Comments/in Income Roundup /by Wallet Squirrel

Let's take a look around the internet to see what other bloggers are doing to earn money. We take a look at their income reports and analyze how they are making extra money on the side. #blogging #bloggingtips #sidehustle

Wow! I cannot believe we are a quarter of the way through 2018.

The point of this article is for all of us to learn what other bloggers are doing to bring income in each month. Hopefully, you will find something new to increase your own income next month.

Before we get started, let’s take a look at how Andrew did during March. He brought in $86.62 during March. This month was a first for us as stock photography brought in the most money. That was fun to see as there were some big sells there.

To learn more about stock photography, check out this article.

Here we go with this month’s featured bloggers!

Bobby Hoyt – Millennial Money Man – $132,024.15 (March 2018)

The last time we checked in with Bobby back in January he had just released a new course for making money on Facebook and catapulted himself into the big leagues!

For those who do not know, Bobby usually earns between $10k to $15k each month. For March he continued his new streak of making $100,000+ a month by earning $132,024.15.

Keep up the amazing work Bobby and thank you for being such an inspiration!

Michelle Schroeder – $241,649 (March 2018)

Michelle just finished up her best month ever by bringing in $241,649 in March! Way to go Michelle!

I like to include Michelle every month because she (along with Pay Flynn) really helped inspire Andrew and me to pursue blogging. Personally, I enjoy following Michelle’s journey over Pat’s because she keeps it simple. This simplicity makes it seem more plausible that we will make blogging our fulltime job too. I am a very realistic person so when things do not seem plausible, I lose motivation.

In case you missed it, Andrew and I had an article featured on her website a couple months ago about our SEO and Web Marketing strategy.

Alexis Schroeder – $10,000 (March 2018)

I think this article is an updated version as to what I shared from Alexis in last months round up. Either way, it is really impressive as to what she has been able to do. Last month she broke a personal income record of $6,000. This month Alexis did it again by hitting five digits for the first time!

I highly recommend reading this post as Alexis gives us some great insight into how she makes her income. I learned a lot from reading it!

As always, keep up the strong work Alexis!

Lanny and Bert – Dividend Diplomats – $891.56 (March 2018 Bert’s)

This month we will take a look at Bert’s dividend income for March. He managed to bring in $891.56 for the month which is a 22.75% increase over last year!

Bert mentions that the star of the show this month was his mutual funds. This is because March is the third month of the quarter which is when they are paid out.

Keep up the great work Bert!

Curious as to what the heck dividend income is? Andrew explains it really well in his What are Dividends and Dividend Investing article. Check it out to learn more!

Keith Park – DivHut – $898.23 (March 2018)

Keith had a solid month for his dividend income with results 11.3% above March 2017. As always, Keith provides the wise words of patience. He talks about how dividend investing is a solid choice when you turn off the noise around you to stay focused on the long game. It is the short game that usually ends up burning you.

Keith has a very nice and clean strategy for gaining extra income from dividends. Andrew has also written up what his strategy is in his My Dividend Investing Strategy.

Reverse the Crush – $27.71 (March 2018)

We wrap up this income report round up with Reverse the Crush. He continues to improve month by month. I really enjoy following his journey because even though he is not making money like the two above he knows that kind of money is coming. The positivity coming from Reverse the Crush is very contagious!

Keep up the awesome work!

Outcomes

Patience is the key. We live in a world that has conditioned us to get results right away. This is not the truth about blogging or investing. It takes time so keep patient and keep working away. We will all hopefully end up breaking records like Bobby, Michelle, and Alexis.

Stay focused and patient, your time will come too.

If you are looking to diversify your income sources more. Check out our Ways to Earn More Money page. Here Andrew and I personally review as many different ways to earn extra money as we can to help you decide if it is right for you.

February Roundup – Our Favorite Income Reports From Around the Web

March 19, 2018/7 Comments/in Income Roundup /by Wallet Squirrel

February Roundup – Our Favorite Income Reports From Around the Web

Today we take a look around the internet at our favorite income reports from around the web. These articles bring together seven to ten bloggers to see what they did in the past month. Some of these people will be fresh for this month while others will be regulars.

The point of this article is for all of us to learn what other bloggers are doing to bring income in each month. Hopefully, you will find something new to increase your own income next month.

Before we get started, let’s take a look at how Andrew did in February. Overall, he had a pretty successful month bringing in $158.06. For more details, you should go check out his income report to see how he accomplished it.

Here we go with this month’s featured bloggers!

Michelle Schroeder – $179,139 (February 2018)

Michelle had a solid month. In fact, she had the best month ever bringing in $179,139 for February.

She was able to do this by making over $100,000 off of affiliate income! That is just unbelievable! Michelle also earned another $79,000 from her affiliate marketing course as well as from sponsors/advertisements.

Seeing what Michelle has been able to do really lights a fire under me. Andrew and I really need to pick up our affiliate game. I just recently learned that most of these major bloggers have 70-100 affiliate links they use. We are using a fraction of that. I have made it a priority to increase our available affiliate links.

In case you missed it, Andrew and I had an article featured on her website last month about our SEO and Web Marketing strategy.

Amanda Abella – $9,138 (January 2018)

We featured Amanda several months ago so I thought we should swing back around to see what she has been up too. Last time we were looking at an old income report of hers from June 2016. Then she was making about $10,000 a month as well. Very similar to this month’s income report.

I really respect the consistent income base that Amanda has developed. She has maintained a very healthy income over the last two years. Well done!

She makes most of her money through freelance writing, coaching, and advertising/sponsorships. She has diversified her talents really well!

Alexis Schroeder – Fitnancials – $6,000+ (February 2018)

Okay, this is not a true income report but Alexis shares too good of advice that I could not share. In her post, she shares with us how she broke her monthly income record. Way to go Alexis!

Alexis used to get discouraged that she would never make over $1,500 a month. Now she is over $6,000 a month! Her advice is to set an income goal then start working to get there. Find side hustles that work for you and keep working to make your dreams into reality.

Thank you for the awesome advice Alexis!

Lanny and Bert – Dividend Diplomats – $64.69 (February 2018)

Normally I like to share either Lanny or Bert’s dividend income for the month. This month we will change things up. They both started tracking their side hustle income awhile back.

This month they both earned a total of $64.69. They both do this by earning some affiliate income through Ebates, Swagbucks, or Ibotta.

What is your best affiliate income source?

Curious as to what the heck dividend income is? Andrew explains it really well in his What are Dividends and Dividend Investing article. Check it out to learn more!

Keith Park – DivHut – $658.59 (February 2018)

Keith continued his strong start to 2018 in February! He was able to bring in $658.59 for the month.

I love reading Kieth’s blog because he always has something really wise to say. This month he talks about how he took comfort in his dividends after the wild month the stock market had. Because of his diversification, Keith has placed himself in a very good position. He is in it for the long run. You should do the same with your investing strategy.

Keith has a very nice and clean strategy to gaining extra income from dividends. Andrew has also written up what his strategy is in his My Dividend Investing Strategy.

Reverse the Crush – $10.57 (February 2018)

We wrap up this income report round up with another dividend income report from Reverse the Crush! This is a little lower than last month but still very good because he beat his goal.

Keep up the great work!

Outcomes

We can take a lot away from Michelle this month. She has put in a lot of work into her blog. Now she only works 10 hours a week! We saw her earn over $100k just off of affiliate income last month.

What are you doing to improve your affiliate income?

If you are looking to diversify your income sources more. Check out our Ways to Earn More Money page. Here Andrew and I personally review as many different ways to earn extra money as we can to help you decide if it is right for you.

January Roundup – Our Favorite Income Reports From Around the Web

February 19, 2018/6 Comments/in Income Roundup /by Adam

We look through these January (and one December) income reports to see what we can learn. We explore what other bloggers are doing to make extra income as the pursue financial freedom. Let's learn!

January Roundup – Our Favorite Income Reports From Around the Web

Today we take a look around the internet at our favorite income reports from around the web. These articles bring together seven to ten bloggers to see what they did in the past month. Some of these people will be fresh for this month while others will be regulars.

The point of this article is for all of us to learn what other bloggers are doing to bring income in each month. Hopefully, you will find something new to increase your own income next month.

Before we get started, let’s take a look at how Andrew started off 2018. Overall, he had a pretty successful month bringing in $131.60 during the month. He also wrapped up 2017 with a total count of the income he made online. So, go check out his income report to see how he accomplished it and give him a congratulations comment at the bottom.

Here we go with this month’s featured bloggers!

Bobby Hoyt – Millennial Money Man – $155,424.10 (January 2018)

Holy crap Bobby! What a stunning month of growth!

For those who do not know, Bobby usually earns between $10k to $15k each month.

Where did this growth come from? Well, Bobby launched a new course called the Facebook Side Hustle Course. This course brought in $139,488.00 (gross revenue) in its opening month!

It will be fun to see if this monthly revenue becomes a norm or not. My guess is yes. I think we just witnessed another blogger, after tons of hard work, launch himself into the $100,000+ a month club.

Keep up the amazing work Bobby and thank you for being such an inspiration!

Pat Flynn – $167,553.31 (December 2017)

Pat’s income reports are always a month behind because I do this roundup in the middle of the month and he posts later on in the month.

This month Pat talks about wrapping up 2017 and getting ready for 2018. He has done his usual routines to conquer all of the goals he has set up for 2018.

I always include Pat on this income report because he is extremely smart at what he does. This will hopefully give you ideas and motivation to conquer new goals yourself.

Michelle Schroeder – $114,812 (January 2018)

Michelle had a solid and very consistent start to 2018. She brought in $114,812 for the month.

This month Michelle reminds us that she started off by earning $0 a month as well. With a lot of hard work, persistence, and patience she has been able to grow that income into what it is today. Andrew and I use Michelle as our inspiration to keep pushing through hard times each and every week.

In case you missed it, Andrew and I had an article featured on her website last week about our SEO and Web Marketing strategy.

Lanny and Bert – Dividend Diplomats – $139.02 (January 2018 Bert’s)

Bert started 2018 off with an 8.77% increase in dividend income compared to 2017. Though his numbers were a little lower than normal, this growth is a great way to start the year off.

Keep up the great work Bert!

Curious as to what the heck dividend income is? Andrew explains it really well in his What are Dividends and Dividend Investing article. Check it out to learn more!

Keith Park – DivHut – $1,327.29 (January 2018)

Keith is another dividend investor that is starting 2018 off strongly! He was able to bring in $1,327.79 for the month of January.

His numbers were strongly boosted by the BCR/BDK merger. This brought in an extra $897.56 for him. Pretty awesome right?!?! It will be fun to see what he does with this extra income.

Keith has a very nice and clean strategy to gaining extra income from dividends. Andrew has also written up what his strategy is in his My Dividend Investing Strategy.

Reverse the Crush – $28.26 (January 2018)

We wrap up this income report round up with another dividend who opened up 2018 with a bang! Reverse the Crush had his best month ever by earning $28.26 last month in just dividend income. That is pretty awesome!

Compared to December he more than doubled his dividend income!

Keep up the awesome work!

Outcomes

We can take a lot away from Bobby and Michelle this month. Every very successful blogger had to start at the bottom. They were not handed a golden ticket that took them to where they are now. They had to work hard every day to get their blog to where it is today.

This is why I love blogging. You truely get out of it what you put into it.

If you are looking to diversify your income sources more. Check out our Ways to Earn More Money page. Here Andrew and I personally review as many different ways to earn extra money as we can to help you decide if it is right for you.

December Round Up – Our Favorite Income Reports From Around the Web

January 15, 2018/5 Comments/in Income Roundup, Uncategorized /by Adam

December Roundup – Our Favorite Income Reports From Around the Web

Today we take a look around the internet at our favorite income reports from around the web. These articles bring together seven to ten bloggers to see what they did in the past month. Some of these people will be fresh for this month while others will be regulars.

The point of this article is for all of us to learn what other bloggers are doing to bring income in each month. Hopefully, you will find something new to increase your own income next month.

Before we get started, let’s take a look at how Andrew did in December. Overall, he had a pretty successful month bringing in $190.49 during the month. He also wrapped up 2017 with a total count of the income he made online. So, go check out his income report to see how he accomplished it and give him a congratulations comment at the bottom.

Here we go with this month’s featured bloggers!

Pat Flynn – $213,212.64 (November 2017)

Pat’s income reports are always a month behind because I do this roundup at the beginning of the month and he posts later on in the month.

This month Pat talks about how he is getting anxious to start something new. Most of his business has become a well oiled automated machine so he has no place for creative freedom. Well, this month he decided to make a bigger dedication to his Youtube channel.

With this new old adventure (he has had his channel since 2009) he is energized again to have a new challenge. As it is every year, it will be fun to see what he does in 2018!

Michelle Schroeder – $1,536,732 (2017)

WOW!!! What a year by Michelle!

Every December she wraps up the year by totaling up what she earned throughout the year. Back in 2013, when she left her 9-5 job, she earned $116,519. Four years later she has multiplied that number by 13 to earn 1,536,732 in 2017!

It is going to be exciting to see what Michelle does in 2018 to keep the ball rolling. Keep up the good work Michelle!

Lanny and Bert – Dividend Diplomats – $2,009.22 (December 2017 Lanny’s)

So I had to do a double take when I saw Lanny’s dividend income this month. I thought I was looking at a total for 2017! WOW! What a month Lanny!

This is the way to end 2017 and how to go into 2018 fired up!

Obviously, December 2017, was a new personal record for Lanny bringing in $2,009.22 just off of dividend income. Two of his stocks, PRFDX and VINIX, brought in over $1,000 alone.

This is really impressive Lanny! Keep up the good work!

Curious as to what the heck dividend income is? Andrew explains it really well in his What are Dividends and Dividend Investing article. Check it out to learn more!

Reverse the Crush – $11.57 (December 2017)

Reverse the Crush is fairly new to the dividend investing world, starting just six months ago. He just completed his second-best month ever earning $11.57 in December!

Reverse the Crush has a goal to make $1,500 each month from only dividend income. This will allow him to leave the 9 to 5 job to focus on blogging full time.

We wish him the best of luck in the coming months. Keep up the good work!

Bobby Hoyt – Millennial Money Man – $13,186.26 (December 2017)

Bobby is a pretty incredible blogger to follow because he knows how to reach people. His blog set many new personal records during 2017 such as reaching over 1 million readers! That is pretty awesome Bobby! Congrats!

In December he brought in $13,186.26 through affiliate marketing, advertisements, and digital marketing consulting. This month he just let the website do its thing while he focused on completing and planning some new projects.

Keep an eye out for those new projects!

Millennial Boss – $2,560 (December 2017)

Millennial Boss (MB) is new to this report. I stumbled upon her blog on Twitter earlier this week.

It is really impressive what MB has accomplished such as paying off over $90,000 in loans to become debt free. She also co-hosts a new podcast called the Fire Drill Podcast. AND she crushed her goal to make over $18,000 from side hustle income during 2017 by actually making over $23,000.

Basically she does it all!

MB capped 2017 off by bringing in $2,560 in the month of December. She mainly makes her money affiliate marketing. It is actually really impressive how diversified her affiliates are. I suggest you check out her list!

Keith Park – DivHut – $682.74 (November 2017)

Keith crushed it in the month of November! He had a 26% year over year gain to bring his monthly total to $682.74. Well done Keith! Keep it growing for 2018!

Keith has a very nice and clean strategy to gaining extra income from dividends. Andrew has also written up what his strategy is in his My Dividend Investing Strategy.

More from Keith to come up next!

Outcomes

I always love the wise words that Keith speaks in his posts. This month he talks about the patience and persistence of dividend investing. It takes time to build a solid passive income no matter what your income stream is.

Even if you have a down month, keep your head up and keep moving forward.

If you are looking to diversify your income sources more. Check out our Ways to Earn More Money page. Here Andrew and I personally review as many different ways to earn extra money as we can to help you decide if it is right for you.

Income Report – December, 2017

January 4, 2018/1 Comment/in Income Roundup /by Wallet Squirrel

If you ever asked yourself “Can I make money online?”. The answer is yes.

I can say with complete accuracy that through the entire year of 2017, through side hustling, learning new tricks and perfecting everything we do on Wallet Squirrel. I made money online.

I made $2,197.81 in 2017. Can you freaking believe that???

Every month I publish these income reports to show how much we make, how much you can make and how we did it. Everything I (Andrew) make, I invest in my portfolio and everything Adam makes, he uses to pay off his family’s debt.

Cool Things We Did In December

Andrew Ended The Year Right

  • Andrew announced that Wallet Squirrel is starting a completely new affiliate website from scratch. I’ll be publishing everything I do on our blog here and share how the site is doing while competing with another blogger for the Epic Niche Site Battle.
  • Andrew conducted a Review of TeeSpring which allows you to make money by designing cool t-shirts to sell. This was my second time trying TeeSpring. It’s OK, but not a realistic way to make extra money.
  • Andrew had a mid-life crisis over his happiness at work, so I wrote “Serious Question, What Makes You Happy At Work“. I’m still thinking about this. Any feedback would be appreciated!
  • Andrew missed his Thursday article last week because our entire website crashed. So I spent the Thursday working with Bluehost to get our site back up. This is the second time it’s happened, once before with our iPage account. It should be resolved. =)

Adam Got In The Holiday Spirit

  • Adam has a 1-year-old but already starting to think about “How and What to Teach Your Kids About Money“. He’s starting off REALLY early. Personally being a parent sounds draining.
  • Adam assembled the “November Round Up – Our Favorite Income Reports From Around the Web“. This is a personal favorite on our website. Do you have any good recommendations to add?
  • While Christmas shopping Adam thought of “11 Last Minute Budget-Friendly Christmas Gifts for the Family“.
  • Adam did a great recap of some of our top posts of the year in “Happy Holidays from Wallet Squirrel – A Look Back at 2017“. He hit some of the top posts in Side Husting, Investing, Saving and Blogging. It gives us warm and fuzzies thinking about everything we accomplished in 2017.

How Much We Made In December

These Income Reports are primarily how much I (Andrew) made last month, but Adam and I share a lot of the revenue, so duplicate the revenue for Adam.

Cool right?

A majority of this income came through my cashback credit card because I spent money during the holidays. Yes I suck. Plus a few Bluehost affiliate sales. Here is the complete breakdown.

Sources of Income for December
$100.00 – Bluehost Affiliate Income
$43.35 – Cashback Credit Card
$13.29 – Robinhood App Affiliate Program
$9.98 – Seeking Alpha Articles
$7.83 – Dividends
$6.65 – Stock Photography
$4.08 – Wallet Squirrel AdSense
$3.76 – Lending Club
$1.55 – Interest Checking/Savings Account

What Do We Do With That $183.84?

Well after paying for website hosting, our CoSchedule account. I use that extra money to invest in my portfolio and Adam uses his share to help pay off his families debt.

However in January since I’m starting the Epic Niche Site Battle, I’m using some of that $183.84 to pay for a new affiliate website domain name and a cool WordPress theme. That’s about $12 for the domain name and $70 for the WordPress theme.

What’s Happing Next Month?

I’ve spent all of December thinking about my new niche affiliate website. I added them up and thought of over 234 different website domains to match the niche idea I have in my head.

January 2018 Goals

I hope for the end of January to have my affiliate site completely up and running with a few awesome blog posts under its belt, but I still have much to do like buy the domain, build the site (and all pages) as well create some awesome posts, and start promoting it. Wish me luck!

November Round Up – Our Favorite Income Reports From Around the Web

December 11, 2017/4 Comments/in Income Roundup, Uncategorized /by Wallet Squirrel

November Round Up – Our Favorite Income Reports From Around the Web

Today we take a look around the internet at our favorite income reports from around the web. These articles bring together seven to ten bloggers to see what they did in the past month. Some of these people will be fresh for this month while others will be regulars.

The point of this article is for all of us to learn what other bloggers are doing to bring income in each month. Hopefully, you will find something new to increase your own income next month.

Speaking of increasing income, Andrew had another great month in November!  He brought in $89.57 during the month. Check out his income report to see how he accomplished it and give him a congratulations comment at the bottom.

Here we go with this month’s featured bloggers!

Pat Flynn – $145,511.70 (August 2017)

Pat’s income has been pretty volatile the last few months. I think the only thing that goes up and down more is the price of Bitcoin. One month he is making $184,000, the next $321,000, then back down to $140,000, then up to $220,000, and finally back down to $145,511.70 this month.

I do not know about you but that would stress me out from month to month!

Now in Pat’s defense, he released a new product every month there was a spike. He has done a very nice job creating a solid base income that he can rely on from month to month (about the $140,000 range). Then he stacks on that foundation with new product releases.

He has created this foundation with a diverse set of income streams that range from affiliate income to niche sites to sponsorships to software.

Michelle Schroeder – $110,656 (November 2017)

Michelle’s numbers are always strong and consistent. She made $110,656 in November which is right around her normal range, $110,000 to $135,000.

She makes most of her income from affiliate income, the Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing Course, sponsorships, and advertisements.

Currently, Michelle works anywhere from 10-20 hours a week on her blog reaping in all of the benefits of the hard work she put in earlier. Keep up the good work Michelle!

Lanny and Bert – Dividend Diplomats – $274.98 (November 2017 Bert’s)

Here goes the same monthly spiel about why I like to follow Lanny and Bert’s adventure for two reasons. One, they are two best friends seeking financial freedom just like Andrew and I. Second, you can get two different perspectives on dividend investing from one place!

This month we will look at Bert’s November dividend income report. Bert had a stunning 71.66% increase compared to his 2016 November numbers bringing his total to $274.98.

Well done Bert!

Curious as to what the heck dividend income is? Andrew explains it really well in his What are Dividends and Dividend Investing article. Check it out to learn more!

Jay – Dividend Miracle – $138.80 (November 2017)

This month we introduce several new bloggers to the income report. This is nothing against the other bloggers who were on the report before. I just wanted to introduce some new blood to this post so we can all learn from other people. First up is Jay from Dividend Miracle.

Jay started building up his dividend income to help his family gain financial freedom. This money will hopefully be passed down to his daughter and generations after that.

This month they brought in $138.80 from a wide array of dividend stocks. I’m actually really impressed by the list. Check it out as you might learn a new one to invest in.

Jay has a very nice and clean strategy to gaining extra income from dividends. Andrew has also written up what his strategy is in his My Dividend Investing Strategy.

Leah – The Sweetest Way – $1933.53 (September 2017)

The Sweetest Way might be my favorite new blog. I love to travel but do not get to like I would like to. Darn you adult responsibilities!

Anyways, I always love a good blog that I can live my dreams of traveling through. The cool thing about Leah from The Sweetest Way is she just started reporting her income reports a few months ago from the work she does while traveling. We get the best of two worlds!

Leah talks about creating passive income so you can travel around the globe. She also talks about gaining location independence, which sounds pretty cool!

She currently makes most of her money from advertisements, affiliate income, sponsorships, and e-books. Pretty sweet!

Keep up the good work Leah and I look forward to following your adventures in the future!

Reverse the Crush – $5.14 (November 2017)

Reverse the Crush is fairly new to the dividend investing world starting just six months ago. He is off to a great start bringing in $5.14 in November from 2 companies.

Reverse the Crush has a goal to make $1,500 each month from only dividend income. This will allow him to leave the 9 to 5 job to focus on blogging full time.

We wish him the best of luck in the coming months. Keep up the good work!

Samantha – Recipe This – $29,171.58 (2017)

Recipe This is a food blog run by food addict Samantha. We have never featured a food blog and I thought it would be fun mainly because I love food and cooking my self.

This income report focuses on ALL of the income Recipe This made during 2017. They make their money from a very diverse set of income streams. These range from sponsorships, Google Adsense, Amazon Associates, consulting, advertisements, and so much more!

Recipe This will be a fun blog to follow in the future.

Outcomes

We can learn from Pat’s volatile income stream to have a solid income base. For me, right now, that is my day job until Wallet Squirrel starts taking off. You will need this in case things go sideways.

Do you have a solid base income that would support your family?

If you are looking to diversify your income sources more. Check out our Ways to Earn More Money page. Here Andrew and I personally review as many different ways to earn extra money as we can to help you decide if it is right for you.

October Round Up – Our Favorite Income Reports From Around the Web

November 13, 2017/1 Comment/in Income Roundup /by Wallet Squirrel

October Round Up – Our Favorite Income Reports From Around the Web

Today we take a look around the internet of our favorite income reports from around the web. These articles bring together seven to ten bloggers to see what they did in the past month. Some of these people will be fresh for this month while others will be regulars.

The point of this article is for all of us to learn what other bloggers are doing to bring in income each month. Hopefully, you will find something new to increase your own income next month.

Speaking of income report, Andrew had a pretty good month in October!  He brought in $171.10 during the month. Check out his October income report to see how he accomplished it.

Here we go with this month’s featured bloggers!

Pat Flynn – $220,158.54 (September 2017)

Pat posts his income reports a little later than I post this round up so we are going to look at his September numbers.

I know I always have Pat and Michelle (see last months round up, her October numbers are not out yet) at the top of my post but they are just so darn motivating. In my opinion, these two really have set the bar in the blogging world. It is good to know what we need to do to create a high standard blog like they have.

Pat had a better September, $220,158.54, compared to August where he brought in $140,866.38. Pat makes his money from a very diverse set of income sources that include affiliate income, book sales, course sales, niche sites, podcast sponsorships, software, and apps. Phew! That is an awesome list!

Alexis – FITnancials – $4,612(October 2017)

This is Alexis’ second month on the income round up.

She had a very nice month bringing in $4,612, which is about $600 more than last month.

Most of her monthly income comes from sponsored posts, affiliate income, add revenue, free products, and being a virtual assistant.

I like to follow FITnancials because the maturity of the website is just about the same as Wallet Squirrel. It gives us a good bookmark on how much time Andrew and I should spend on the blog each week. Alexis spends about 20-30 hours a week on it unless she is traveling where it could drop to 5-10 hours.

How much time a week do you spend on your blog?

Bobby Hoyt – Millennial Money Man – $16,409.45 (October 2017)

Bobby keeps moving up with his monthly income! In October he made an impressive $16,409.45 compared to $15,551.47 in September.

This amount is impressive because he only makes his income from affiliate marketing, advertisement, staff writing, and digital marketing.

Even though Bobby is not as diverse with his income sources such as Pat Flynn, he really does well for himself.

He could expand out his digital marketing business but does not because he enjoys the lifestyle he has now.

Personally, I highly respect him for this decision. Everyone should shoot for a healthy work/life balance. Life is not only about money when you don’t get to enjoy your family as well.

Lanny and Bert – Dividend Diplomats – $422.03 (Lanny’s October 2017)

Here goes the same monthly spiel about the two reasons as to why I like to follow Lanny and Bert’s adventure. One, they are two best friends seeking financial freedom just like Andrew and I. Second, you can get two different perspectives on dividend investing from one place!

Even though I will probably never change that opener, I will change what income we look at from Lanny and Bert. This month we will look at Lanny’s October dividend income summary.

Lanny had a really nice month, bringing in $422.03 just from dividend income. He has been enjoying some awesome dividend income from Cisco the last few months. Pretty awesome job Lanny!

Curious as to what the heck dividend income is? Andrew explains it really well in his What are Dividends and Dividend Investing article. Check it out to learn more!

Keith Park – DivHut – $516.43 (October 2017)

As always, Keith had another solid month of dividend income even though it was lower than September. He gained $516.43 in October compared to $867.42 in the month of September.

Even though he had a lower month, because October is the first month of the 4th quarter, he still had a 19% increase compared to last year! Well done Keith!

Keith has a very nice and clean strategy for gaining extra income from dividends. Andrew has also written up what his strategy is in his My Dividend Investing Strategy.

Investment Hunting – $890.39 (October 2017)

Investment Hunting (IH) had its best October ever from dividend and options income, recording $890.39.

IH has set a lofty goal for 2017 to make $7,500 from dividend income and $7,500 from options income. Currently, he is ahead on the dividend income goal but behind on the options goal.

The market has not played that nice this year for options and there is not much IH can do about that.

Keep up the good work!

Outcomes

Personally, I believe that diversity in income sources is the key to success in the blogging world. The ventures you touch, I believe you increase your chances of success. This can be seen from Pat Flynn.

Andrew and I have some projects for 2018 lined up that will help diversify Wallet Squirrel a little more. Stay tuned…

September Round Up – Our Favorite Income Reports From Around the Web

September Round Up – Our Favorite Income Reports From Around the Web

Today we take a look around the internet of our favorite income reports from around the web. These articles bring together seven to ten bloggers to see what they did in the past month. Some of these people will be fresh for this month while others will be regulars.

The point of this article is for all of us to learn what other bloggers are doing to bring in income each month. Hopefully, you will find something new to increase your own income next month.

Speaking of increasing income, Andrew had his best month ever in September!  He brought in $368.91 during the month. Check out his income report to see how he accomplished it and give him a congratulations comment at the bottom.

Here we go with this month’s featured bloggers!

Pat Flynn – $140,866.38 (August 2017)

Pat posts his income reports a little later than I post this round up so we are going to look at his September numbers.

The difference between Pat’s July and August numbers really show how the launch of a new product can really boost your numbers. In July, Pat’s income was more than $300k, which is insane! In August, he came back to Earth (a little bit) making $140,866.38.

July was so successful because of his new course, Power-Up Podcasting. This course brought in $243,332.00 in one month! In August it brought in $52,477.00. Still really good returns but nothing compared to July.

Michelle Schroeder – $113,267.08 (September 2017)

Michelle has had another month of steady income at right around the $115k range. Since she has laid out such a strong foundation, she does not have to work as hard on her blog. She has been working only about 10 hours a week allowing a virtual assistant to help her with time-consuming tasks.

Michelle is an inspiration for me because she is where I want to get with blogging. Reading her blog gives us insight into what all of the time and hard work put into our very own blog will pay off to be.

Andrew, I, and you will get there. We just need to keep pushing forward and working hard like Michelle did.

Alexis – FITnancials – $4,018 (September 2017)

Alexis is a newcomer to the income round up. I found her because she is actually Michelle Schroeder’s sister.

I find Fitnancials interesting because the maturity of the site seems very similar to what Wallet Squirrel is. Which makes me want to work harder on our monthly income as Alexis brought in over $4k for the month of September. We should be doing something similar.

Most of her monthly income comes from sponsored posts, affiliate income, add revenue, free products, and being a virtual assistant.

Alexis mentions she might stop creating the monthly income reports. To her I say, for selfish reasons, don’t. Reading income reports is something I really enjoy and it would be sad to lose yours to read every month.

Bobby Hoyt – Millennial Money Man – $15,551.47 (September 2017)

Bobby made an impressive $15,551.47 in September.

I respect him for this decision. There needs

I highly respect him for this decision. Everyone should shoot for a healthy work/life balance. Life is not only about money when you don’t get to enjoy your family as well.

Lanny and Bert – Dividend Diplomats – $200.49 (September 2017 Side Hustle Report)

Here goes the same monthly spiel about why I like to follow Lanny and Bert’s adventure for two reasons. One, they are two best friends seeking financial freedom just like Andrew and I. Second, you can get two different perspectives on dividend investing from one place!

Even though I will probably never change that opener, I will change what income we look at from Lanny and Bert, side hustles! The two have only just recently begun to track and report their side hustle income so it will be fun to see how it develops in the future.

Lanny and Bert mainly made their income from cash back programs such as eBates (see Andrew’s review here), Swagbucks, and Ibotta (see my review here). They also made a good amount from selling unwanted stuff that was cluttering up their homes. They must have read my getting rid of distractions article. 😀

If you are curious about what side hustles that might work for you, check out our Ways to Make Money page.

Keith Park – DivHut – $867.42 (September 2017)

As always, Keith had another solid month of dividend income. He gained $867.42 in the month of September compared to $658.22 in August.

I would suggest you head over to his post to read his wise words about the stock market as it continues to climb to all-time highs. In short, he says that people have been saying that it will correct to a normal level for over two years now with all of the, “potential monkey wrenches thrown at this market, yet it continues to chug along.” That correction will come, it is something that should be accepted. But it will continue it cycle and bounce back. That is what the market does and you should trust the long game of the market.

I can’t do his wise words justice about not panicking over what analysts are saying so I suggest you read for yourself.

Keith has a very nice and clean strategy to gaining extra income from dividends. Andrew has also written up what his strategy is in his My Dividend Investing Strategy.

Outcomes

Based on what Keith is saying this month. Instead of investing in one area for your income. I always recommend diversifying where your income is coming from. You never know when one source will crash and stop producing income. This is why I am glad to see Lanny and Bert reaching out to different side hustles for more income.

If you are looking to diversify your income sources more. Check out our Ways to Earn More Money page. Here Andrew and I personally review as many different ways to earn extra money as we can to help you decide if it is right for you.
