Income Report – December, 2021
Welcome to 2022! I look forward to continuing to add to the consistency that Andrew and I have built in the last couple of months.
Back in November, I challenged Andrew to an end-of-the-year competition. We decided to see who create the most content in eight weeks. Andrew crushed me at this by writing TWELVE articles! What an amazing job he did! Sadly for him, he gave me a handicap because I have two young kids. With this gracious gift, I was able to beat him in the competition.
I loved this friendly competition and I think Andrew did too. It was a great motivation tool for us two. I suspect we will be doing more of these in the coming year.
I do plan on using the winning money for my final metaverse article. More about this at the end of this report.
What We Managed to Accomplish in December!
- Andrew continues to crush it on our affiliate website. Sorry, that still is a secret for now.
- He wrote 12 new articles for that website. WOW!!!
- Adam wrote several more articles. Those I can share!
- We to share tons of cool finance jokes, infographics, and quotes on social media. Check out our Instagram!
Income For December
We finished the year with another month of $500+ income! It is so exciting to see the consistent stream of income hitting our little website. Over the past few months, we have hit a hiccup with our pageviews after a technical glitch that just killed us. Finally this month we were able to get this trend turned back around. Once we get our numbers back up, I suspect we will see even higher and consistent monthly incomes from ad revenue, affiliate income, and sponsored posts.
These are all pretty incredible income generators and we’ve mentioned them before on the blog.
- Affiliate Marketing – we earn a commission if someone buys a product through a link on your website
- Blue Host Affiliate – an affiliate link for website hosting we use.
- Online Surveys – we earn money from participating in online surveys like Swagbucks.
- Stock Photography – we earn money whenever one of our photos sells online.
- Interest Checking/Saving Account – we earn interest on the money in our checking and savings accounts.
- Cash Back Credit Card – we earn extra money via 2% cashback from using our credit card.
- Lending Club – we earn interest from peer-to-peer lending.
- Dividends – we earn dividends from the stocks we own.
Monthly Expenses for Wallet Squirrel
The expression “It takes money to make money” is actually pretty accurate. As we learn new skills, we find new software and processes that help us make more money. However, they come with a cost for their convenience. Here is where our money went in July.
Monthly Expenses – $99 Total
- Bluehost [$36] – Hosting Service
- Sitelock [$8] – Extra security for our Bluehost servers
- Domain [$2] – So we can keep the domain WalletSquirrel.com
- Bloom [$7] – Our email forms, but we’ll likely be getting rid of this soon.
- Grammarly [$12] – We can’t live without this amazing grammar tool
- The Noun Project [$4] – The best site for icons for our infographics.
- Sendible [$30] – A social media scheduling platform. Adam seems to really enjoy it!
- Canva [$12] – Helps us create cool graphics!
Everything leftover has been invested in my dividend portfolio.
What’s Next For January
Every January, Andrew and I get together to talk about our goals and strategies for the year. This year is no different, we will be doing the same. I look forward to seeing what we come up with then.
I will continue writing new content for Wallet Squirrel while Andrew works on our Affiliate Website. I am looking forward to my last and final article for the Metaverse where I actually buy some NFTs and why I decided on those! I will take you along for the journey so you can make your own purchases as well!
After last year’s hiccup, I want to go back to the basics for Wallet Squirrel. For this, I will be working on a foundational plan to continue the growth of our pageviews.
Cheers!
Adam and Andrew
