It was a tough month. While I feel like our productivity was crazy high in April, it really didn’t reflect in our earnings which kind of destroys me.

Every month we publish these income report as a way of keeping track of how much we earn each month and provide a timeline of how we grow as a blog. Plus when we provide this level of transparency, I hope it shows you that it doesn’t take a lot to earn extra money on the side.

As I mentioned we were productive in lots of little ways, one of which was our articles that both Adam and myself (Andrew) wrote.

What Adam & Andrew Wrote About in April

Adam wrote 5 articles
  • Adam’s first post in April is CRUSHING it (140 Pinterest shares so far) on an interesting topic “18 Lies Making You Broke“. If you can make it through all 18, you’re well on your way to financial independence!
  • Adam also cherry-picked our favorite side hustles wit “15 Great Ways To Make Extra Money on the Side“. These are some of the best ways we’ve found so far to make extra money to use for investing.
  • Adam went through our favorite bloggers online and shared their income with the “March, 2018 Blogger Income Report RoundUp“, a collection of who made what and DANG is it impressive!
  • New to blogging and need suggestions on some great affiliate programs? Adam shared the “7 Best Affiliate Programs for Beginners“.
  • One of the reasons we started to do awesome on Pinterest is due to Adam and his use of the program called Tailwind. So after we had crazy growth from Pinterest Adam created his “Tailwind Review: How We Grew Our Pinterest Traffic by 10,000%“.
Andrew wrote 3 articles
  • After getting frustrated with our keyword use and traffic, I purchased SEMrush to help me be a little my analytical about our approach to blogging and journaled about this experience in “SEMrush Review – How To Get Great Website And Blog Post Ideas“.
  • In an effort to save more time in my day, especially lunch time. I decided to try meal replacement shakes to save on money, time and dishes. You can read about this experience with “How I Replaced Lunches With Meal Replacement Shakes to Save Money“.
  • Lastly I started to consider driving for Uber on the weekends to make extra money, but before I made the plunge I wanted to ask “How Much Do Uber Drivers Make?“. I found several studies and driver stories to share how much they made per hour.

April 2018 – Income Report

As I hinted to below, it wasn’t an impressive month, but we still broke $100 so that is better than my average last year.

This income really came down to 12 different income streams.

Sources of Income This Month – $126.41
$50.00 – Bluehost Affiliate Income
$15.50 – Cashback Credit Card
$13.55 – Robinhood App Affiliate Program
$11.86 – Dividends
$11.06 – Seeking Alpha Articles
$8.61 – Interest Checking/Savings Account
$7.77 – Wallet Squirrel AdSense
$3.50 – Lending Club
$2.08 – Stock Photography
$1.45 – Wallet Squirrel Affiliate Marketing
$1.03 – Epic Niche Site Affiliate Marketing

Where Does That Money Go?

After expenses (hosting/social media manager/etc.) Adam and I split the income each month to use that cash different ways.

I use that extra cash to invest in my dividend portfolio. Especially last month I used the extra cash I had to buy a few more shares of Disney (DIS) while it was under $100. Wahoo!

Adam used his half to help pay off his family’s debt. Apparently, babies are expensive. I have no kids, so I don’t know. Lol

What Do We Plan To Do In May?

Well, Adam and I are meeting up this weekend to figure out why after a year our income hasn’t significantly grown. This is really bumming me out. So I’m hoping we can come up with some ideas on how to improve that! Any awesome ideas?

Hopefully, some ideas from this meeting will inform our May goals. =)

I’m amazed by the amount of different sources where your income comes from!

I also need to start some affiliate links to see if I can scrounge something of there.

LOVE your monthly report graph…I also just posted my report with some different graphs as well.

    Keep it up you guys!
