April, 2020 Income Report
It’s been 5 years but we still share these monthly income reports to show transparency in how much we make every month with our money experiments. Honestly, it’s exciting to share this because 5 years ago, I knew nothing about cashback credit cards, high-interest savings accounts, or that I could make money selling my old photos. Now they contribute to regular passive income.
What happened in April?
We have been going full steam on Wallet Squirrel. We have the next month of articles queued up and that is allowing us to build our marketing and brand up in the following month. In case you missed them, here are some awesome articles that went out last month.
- 10 Creative Ways Millennials Are Donating To Charity For Tax Season – I really liked this one because people today are donating to charity in very different ways compared to our parent’s generation. Not all of them are tax-deductible, but all great for the support they provide.
- 10 Things To Do If You Lost Your Job and Need Money Now – This is a surprisingly huge article on Wallet Squirrel as people are looking for ways to survive after a job loss. Especially with COVID, more people than ever are looking for ways to get their feet on the ground. We updated this article with more resources and greater depth.
- Personal Loan vs. Line of Credit – Which is Better? – This was a guest post from another blogger. It’s a nice article if you’ve ever been interested in the different.
How Much Money We Made In April
This was another month below $100 but it’s great that a majority of our income came from Dividends. It’s great because while the stock market is being beaten down, dividend income is continuously pouring into my account. It’s not quite enough to live on, but as I buy more dividend stocks, it continues to build!

What’s Next With May
Since I mentioned that most of our May articles are complete (I did a 6 week trial of Step Bet to talk about coming up). I am hoping to focus more on marketing. Perhaps using SEMrush to do some outreach and link building. I have some ideas about that!
Another thing I want to research in May is how blog sponsorships work. Have you ever done one or know of any great resources on getting blog sponsorships?
Otherwise, Adam is doing awesome at building our Pinterest profile, we’re at 31,700 monthly viewers on our Pinterest Page. Which is very impressive. We’ve been using Tailwind to build this out after Adam went through a Pinterest class. However, let us know if you have any other tips?
It’s super impressive that everything we’ve done to this point (teaching ourselves) has led to over 325,000 people reading our articles to date. Any suggestions from full-time bloggers on how to take this to the next level?
Wallet Squirrel is a personal finance blog by best friends Andrew & Adam on how money works, building side-hustles, and the benefits of cleverly investing the profits. Featured on MSN Money, AOL Finance, and more!
I like the income reports the most, I have been following them for quite some time.
glad to hear that you’re still moving forward with your side hustle blogging endeavors. 🙂
Thanks! We love them!

Thanks DNN! I just wish they were more. It takes a while to get the crank turning again and passive income to keep generating.
There’s so much $ gUaP $ to be made online. Shoot me questions to my e-Mail and I’ll answer you on the website in a near future post. 🙂
Keep up the good job dude!
